Soup Kitchen Breakfast Team: volunteers needed
We are looking for some help with the Soup Kitchen Breakfast team for Thursday March 26. Are you able to help?
Many of our regular team members are either in a vulnerable group or caring for someone in a vulnerable group. We are seeking to both protect those members of our community who are vulnerable and also continue to serve our brothers and sisters who are facing hunger and homelessness in Lethbridge.
I have been in contact with Bill Ginther, the Executive Director of the Soup Kitchen, and he assures me that they are putting measures in place to protect both volunteers and clients, and are meeting all Government and Health Ministry guidelines for Soup Kitchens during this time. New measures include:
- limiting numbers to 50 (including volunteers, staff, and guests)
- implementing enhanced hand washing and use of hand sanitizers
- requiring all staff and volunteers to wear gloves when preparing and serving food
We meet at the Soup Kitchen at 6:15am and we are normally finished by 8:30am. Can you join us on Thursday March 26? If so, please contact Gillian Breckenridge (email@example.com; 403 915 3484). Thank you, beloved church!
This began as a ministry of St. Augustine’s Church and has grown into a city wide ministry. Volunteers from St. Augustine’s are responsible for feeding those in need at the Soup Kitchen every 4th Saturday of the month.
