St. Augustine’s Church

You are welcome

St. Augustine’s is a warm and growing Christian community, and you are welcome to join us. Our parish is part of the worldwide Anglican Communion, although many of us come from a variety of Christian backgrounds or none. St. Augustine’s is located near the centre of Lethbridge, Alberta but our congregation is spread all over the city and region. Wherever you are on your spiritual journey, you are welcome to join our church family as we learn to follow Jesus.

Frequently asked questions

Is everyone welcome at St. Augustine’s?

Yes, our doors are open to all people – Anglicans and non-Anglicans, believers and seekers, those with faith and those who are unsure where they stand. All are welcome.

Not to worry – people may want to greet you but no one will put you on the spot. We suggest coming to our 10 a.m. Sunday service, find yourself a place to sit and just enjoy the service. But if you’re not quite ready to visit in person, we suggest watching our service via livestream video this Sunday.

During the 10 a.m. service, we have a vibrant Sunday School program for children and youth of all ages. We also have a staffed nursery downstairs with pagers for parents or guardians.

Yes, we do. Please call our church office (403-327-3970) for rental information.

In each of the pews at church you’ll find prayer request cards. Please fill one out and drop it in the collection on Sunday morning, or speak to Rev. Steve or Rev. Gillian.

There is ample street parking around the church building. On Sunday you can also park across 11th street in the Lethbridge Seniors Centre parking lot.

The patron saint of our parish is St. Augustine of Hippo, a 4th-5th century bishop from North Africa. St. Augustine had a tremendous influence on the Western church and his writings continue to inspire theological teaching and reflection, and Christian belief and practice, across the many denominations of the worldwide church to this day.
